Inspiration from Unusual Sources: Integrating Innovation into Your Work
Monday, November 12, 2007
8:15am -4:30pm
Pyle Center, UW-MadisonWhat's it all about?
The campus is alive with possibility... innovative, creative approaches to teaching and learning, research, program administration, co-curriculum, etc... these experiences happen, enriching the lives of many on campus, in the community, throughout the state, and around the world. The ambition of this conference is to provide a space in which people can share stories of inspiration from whatever sources have emerged... and for us as a community to begin to consider what is possible by learning from one another:
Therefore:
- We have wonderful workforce leadership programs & opportunities...
- We have a variety of creative approaches to solving complex issues across disciplines and locations...
- We have innovative approaches to teaching & research that result in significant breakthroughs...
- We have a wide range of excellent service-learning programs around the community and throughout the world...
- Is it possible to learn about keys to inspiration that can be tapped, shared, and constructively channeled for greater institutional success?
- Are there experiences that have occurred in Engineering that can help us address challenges in the Arts... and the other way around?
- Are there exciting innovations in professional development that can inform pedagogy in the classroom?
- Are technological innovations making it possible for us to imagine new ways of engaging in sustained creative learning communities that can address some of the planet's most important challenges?
These are some of the questions we imagine can be unearthed through such a conference. Our hope is to bring together those who have inspiring stories to share. We feel we can all benefit from the conversation. From these initial presentations and discussions, we seek to sustain the 'sparks' in some ways that can help us uncover communication channels, tools, and processes that can facilitate synergies among these approaches.
Be a part of it!
